Sunshine in abundance … much joy 🙂

A short breakaway in Dorset last week meant a visit to Kimmeridge Bay, a lovely spot along the Jurassic coast ..
The Washing Ledge is close to the coastguard cottages on the cliff and was, so it is said probably used by those families on laundry days . It must have been at higher tide times than here where those slippery seaweed-greens would have given a rather undesirable finish !

One of the days we walked up to Old Harry Rocks where looking westwards there is a fine view of two chalk formations a stack and a stump- The Pinnacles- below Ballard Down . A lovely part of coastline and definitely worth a visit . I managed to take this hand held shot with my Nikon, it’s a heavy beast and normally I only use it with a tripod, but that felt like an extra weight I really could do without with sketchbook et al, so I hoped for the best … and once home I was pleasantly surprised to find ‘it was sharp where it was meant to be sharp’
A little further a spot was found where I could enjoy getting on with some scribbly en plein air sketching of the coastline .. yes definitely something I intend to do more of this year 🙂

Gosh, I have to say Blogging feels so new, unfamiliar with this WP layout etc I’m working hard finding out how to do things and also whether this theme is the one for me … more tweaks inevitable I guess …
Meanwhile I think it’s time to re discover you all in the blogging WP family 🙂
Poppy! Here you are again…fab sketches and images. Do keep blogging, you’re doing fine…I’m getting irritated with WP lover certain things but I keep posting as there are some great bloggers to keep up with

Sue just said it! There are, indeed! For me your opening sketch is more beautiful than the photo. I know I don’t have a technical eye for either painting or photography but it doesn’t stop me from being lost in admiration, Louise.

Ah I don’t believe that for a minute Jo !
That’s a lovely comment x and thanks for finding me 😉
It’s nice to be able to pull out some sketching stuff when photography conditions are not really as I’d wish for ha … a reminder Note To Self is … *check tide times and position of the sun*

Love the sketches – they remind me a lot of the sketches in the books by Sue Lewington.

So .. I just googled Sue Lewington and was very taken with her lovely loose carefree work, something I’m aiming for with these en plein sketches so that was a nice compliment thank you Jude !

Ah, you don’t know how happy it makes me to see your sketch, do you? Maybe you do…
And I was just visiting a beach at low tide near here, one with very interesting rocks exposed at low tide. I’m glad the Old Harry Rocks photo came out well without a tripod. I can’t deal with them at all. 😉 This theme looks fine to me so far but I get that you might end up changing it. The bottom line is that it’s wonderful to have your breath-of-fresh-air spirit back. I can feel the sunshine of your spirit all the way over here! Do whatever you need to do to make blogging work for you – post when you want to, what you want to. OK? OK. 😉
